EdTech giant Byju’s has announced the rollout of a new AI-powered learning assistant for use in government-run schools across India, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education. The initiative aims to bridge learning gaps in underserved areas by providing personalized, multilingual tutoring on tablets and low-cost devices.
The assistant leverages natural language processing and adaptive algorithms to understand student performance and offer targeted lessons, quizzes, and concept reinforcement in over 12 Indian languages. It also features voice-enabled learning to help early-grade students and those with reading difficulties.
Pilots in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Odisha showed a 27% increase in learning outcomes over three months, especially in foundational math and language comprehension.
